What Conditions can be Treat by a Chartered Physiotherapist
Chartered Physiotherapists are involved in a huge range of care.
Common complaints treated include:-
Spinal Problems
This includes prolapsed discs, degeneration, sciatica, lumbago, stiff / painful neck and reffered arm and leg pains. Assessment and appropriate treatment should be by a chartered physiotherapist or referred for specialist investigations if we feel that this is required. Experienced physiotherapists have worked very closely with orthopaedic and neurological consultants within the NHS and in Private hospitals and this is why physiotherapists are better trained and experienced in treatment of spinal conditions.
Joint Problems
Arthritis, injury, pain and swelling, stiffness in the joint.
Many people believe that they have to endure their pains! This is nonsense when physiotherapy treatment and self management advice can make you feel human again.
Most people who walk out of my clinic will say that they feel much better after just the first session of treatment, and they go on to feel better again with further treatment and the self management tips that I give them. Many return at a much later date for a "top up", but certainly not a maintenance programme other than their own. I can never believe those who say they have to have treatment every week for years, I would not take my car to the garage every week for "maintenance", would you?"
